HIT THE MARK
Hit The Mark is a junior dance platform that specifically caters to young dancers aged between 7 to 12.
The competition strives to provide an established platform for junior dancers across Singapore to compete and interact with one another. Hit The Mark aims to equip dancers with performing experience, constructive feedback, and relevant dance skills that will enhance and prepare them for future performances and competitions such as the bi-annual Singapore Youth Festival.
The event comprises of two parts, the competition and the workshops.
First instalment in 2017 with the following participating schools:
1. Cantonment Primary School
2. CHIJ Lady of Good Counsel
3. De La Sella Primary School
4. St-Joseph’s Institution Junior
5. Teck Ghee Primary School
During the competition, students will observe how others utilise their potential and in turn be challenged and inspired to maximise their own.
The workshop is more sports-centric than the typical dance workshop, as it specifically aims to enhance dance ability through conditioning of the body.
It consists of five stations that train agility, weight placement, spatial awareness, tumbling skills, and more. These exercises focus on helping participants understand their bodies better as well as foster the spirit of teamwork.
